George never liked work very much. At school he was always at the bottom of his class. Then he went and worked in an office, but he did not do much work there.
There were big windows in the office, and there was a street below them. There were always a lot of people and cars and buses in the street, and George liked sitting at his desk and looking at them.
George had a friend. His name was Peter, and he worked in the same office, but he was very different from George.
He worked very hard. Last Tuesday George stood at one of the windows of the office for a long time. Then he said to his friend Peter,
‘There’s a very lazy man in the street. He began digging a hole this morning, but he hasn’t done any work for half an hour.’
